New painting idea with verse

  I'm working on a new painting and I've written a verse that will describe the finished piece. Most of the time I have an idea for a painting, then do the painting, name the piece and on occasion write a verse to describe it. This is a little bit turned around as I have had the idea, but I just came up with the verse while lying awake a few nights ago.  

  Most ideas come to me while on long drives or just lying awake at night. It really is depressing sometimes because there are so many ideas for paintings and there just doesn't seem to be the time. I have 19 paintings that I want to do right now on just this same window theme.  

 There is a beautiful young lady from the Toledo area that is going to model for this painting and I really appreciate her help.

Here is the simple short verse;

When you look into my window 
                                     what do you see?

Is it the red of anger and contempt,
                or the black of pain and sorrow,
                or is it the white in the purity of my soul?

Year End Update

  Finishing up the store business for 2011 this week and then it is time to get back to my personal paintings. Although the first week of 2012 will still be spent working on the Buckeye Country Art business I know that it is close to getting back to the canvas and brush. I need to do at least 10 of these paintings this coming year for a show that I want to put together in January 2013. Several models have already contacted me to pose as the subjects in these new paintings and I'll be shooting as reference this coming January.

Finished this painting this afternoon while sipping a little wine and catching a small breeze on the patio. I still have a couple of small changes that I may make, but for the most part it is complete. 24" x 36" acrylic on canvas painting  and yes, to all the so called painting elites ... it is acrylic and not the blessed oil.

The theme for this months art guild meeting is buttons and since I won't be at the meeting on Thursday, I'll be in the Michigan woodland searching for the ever elusive morel, I thought that I would post my interpretation of "buttons" here.

  She stood on an imagined bridge of calm within a crevice of despair and anguish waiting for a rainbow of new direction in her life.

After a few computer issues and other business I was finally able to get the painting scanned. I hope that you enjoy it.  Like most of my paintings you can interpret it in your own way and I welcome you to do so.

 Maybe I should post different paintings and let you, the viewer interpret them? It may be quite interesting?

After posting the previous progressions and watching the painting come to life, this is the finished work. 

  It is about the beautiful and youthful existence a person may attain after their present life ends. Up through the baptism of water,  down the path past the wall of sacrifices others have made for you and across the meadow to the lane that leads to eternal contentment. 

The shoes represent the life of an adult that has been left behind.

Repost of a painting that I completed earlier in the year. The earlier post was just a photo and the colors were off quite a bit. I recently scanned this painting and I hope that I'm not bothering anyone with these reposts, but I just wanted you to see the image that more closely matched the original. The original is a 24" x 36" acrylic on canvas.

A 24" x 26" acrylic painting completed a couple of weeks ago. I delayed in scanning it for a while because I wasn't satisfied with it.  After a few additional background changes I believe it to be complete now. ... although I have to say,  after completing any painting there seems to always be a few things that continually annoy me.
