We have a meeting tomorrow night at 7:00 at the Schroeder building.
I have the information on the Camelot performance at the dinner theatre, LaComedia on March 14th.
If you are interested in traveling with us to the show here are the cost.
We will be sitting in the section 1 area of the room and the regular cost is $69.00, but we as a group will get a discount and be paying just $50.00 per person. ( We got an additional $2.00 off because of scheduling early in the performances run). The bus ride and will cost everyone $30.00.
Your cost for ticket and ride is $80.00
So you are actually paying just $11.00 for the bus ride when you consider the regular price is $69.00.
We need to get at least 30 people to make this trip possible and I need to know by Friday.
Here was the webblog that we had in the past and it has many additional features that I haven't even used yet.
We can put up artists galleries, the artists can even sell artwork from the site and it is not costing the club any money.
Do you like the site or do we want to start over with a new one?

Ken Pollitz [Pastor of New Creation Lutheran Church in Ottawa], has asked artists to explore doing a show entitled "Passion for the Arts", during Passion week hosted at his church [First week of April]. THe theme would encompass Christ's entrance into Jerusalem through his rising from the dead on easter morning. The artists would submit their art works with any details about the work of art and included a resume from the artist. Start small and make it an annual event. Ideas suggestions ...email or call Ken [ 419 523-6250] or me [ stoweart@bright.net ] or BRAG at web site

FOLLOW UP FROM Pastor KEN......Art with a Passion [I had said Passion for the Arts]
Dear Bruce,
Thank you for the thoughtful time and insights relative to my interest in establishing “Art With a Passion!” Your sensitivities and heightened awareness of the arena of art and artisans was extremely informative.
In light of our conversation, however, I am still committed to proceed in faith with whatever results the Spirit might bring about under these time constraints. I would like to communicate and invite (probably via letter) area high schools (Putnam County for starters), students and faculty of area universities and colleges (Defiance College, Findlay University, Bluffton University, Tiffin University, Owens Community College, Bowling Green State University, Heidelberg College, Ohio Northern University, OSU-Lima, University of Northwest Ohio, and Winebrenner Theological Seminary) and any professional artists (or members of any art guilds) to submit artwork for display for an art exhibit the evenings of (at least) April 5-10, 2009 (Holy Week) at New Creation Lutheran Church, Ottawa, Ohio. The parameters for the “Art With a Passion!” artwork will have expression stimulated by any of the events surrounding the Passion of Christ (Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday). This time frame would encompass such events as Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, the anointing at Bethany, the Last Supper, Jesus’ arrest, betrayal, trial, and crucifixion along with any and all events surrounding His resurrection. The artwork would be of quite broad range including ceramics, glass and stained glass, engraving, jewelry, photography, sculpture, metalwork and any of the various schools of painting (abstract, expressionism, realism, etc…)
The accompanying anticipation for artisans would be their willingness to provide a brief biography of their works, the biblical passage that provided the initial inspiration for the artwork, the style/form of artwork being expressed and any reflections on the thought-process that influenced the manifestation and shaping of the final piece of artwork. The opportunity for the sale of the artist’s work would be up to the discretion of the artist at a price assigned by the artist. Any unsold or not to be sold pieces of art would be return to the artist at the conclusion of the exhibit. Each piece of artwork would be appropriated displayed in the worship area of New Creation which will be transformed into an art exhibit area for the six days and would be open during the evening hours with light refreshments being served.
The intent of the exhibit would be at least two fold. For another opportunity for area artists to display their works of art (perhaps for sale) and to enhance and deepen the understanding and expressions of the unfolding drama once again of the Passion of Christ into the lives of those who would take in the exhibit and share in the inspiring experience of biblical witness as told through the various expressions of the artwork on display.
Bruce, if you would be so kind to forward this information and invitation on to those whom you know in the artworld, that would be greatly appreciated. If you’d like to respond with further insight and even the addresses of those who are a part of your art-network, I would be happy to contact them also. Thanks you again.
Peace,
Ken
